Geocycle has made great strides in offering solutions for construction and Demolition Waste (CDW)

Construction and Demolition Waste (CDW) is the largest waste stream in the EU (⅓ of all waste produced). Despite the challenging volumes,

appropriate waste separation, collection and, more generally, recycling infrastructures are still missing in many EU countries.

For several years, Geocycle has offered a unique circular solution to the construction sector by recycling CDW in the cement process. In 2017, we communicated about the amazing performance of the Recycling Center of Retznei in Austria. Today, Retznei and Mannersdorf plants are recycling 200kt of CDW annually. This impressive development is supported by stringent regulations: both a landfill tax and specific regulation on demolition which facilitate recycling.
