Cooperation Total / Geocycle for oil sludge in Belgium

One of their sites is located in Feluy, which is at less than 10 kms from the Geocycle Seneffe site.

Geocycle provides a wide range of waste management services that include advice, assessment, analysis, transportation, pre-treatment and final treatment. It is a subsidiary of Holcim Group, the world's largest cement manufacturer. Its 2000 employees are dedicated to waste management in over 50 countries on all continents.
The Geocycle Seneffe platform, prepares solid and liquid fuels, mainly for subsequent co-processing in the LH Obourg killns.
Historically, due to this proximity, there are existing relationships between Total Petrochemicals Feluy and Geocycle Seneffe/LH Obourg. Total Petrochemicals Feluy delivered since many years hundreds of tons of sludge, coming from their waste water plant. The sludge is dried in the Obourg Bemti installation, and subsequently co-processed in the Obourg cement kilns.
“Co processing, when coupled with expert pretreatment and carried out in the internationally certified manner, provides a practical, cost effective and environmentally preferred option to landfills and Waste To Energy incineration” precised Maarten Van Raemdonck, Sales & Marketing Manager for Geocycle Belgium.
Total Petrochemicals Feluy likes the high quality of the Geocycle services as well as the additional benefit of Co-Processing the sludges as opposed to incinerating them.

Geocycle having global operations, and in the case of Total Petrochemicals Feluy also being very closeby (eliminating transport costs), adds additional value for Total.
In addition to the sludges, Geocycle also receives many other waste streams in their also nearby Geocycle Seneffe operations.
