At the heart of our approach is the recovery of valuable materials through recycling and pre-processing, ensuring their reintegration into the economy. Complementing this, we apply co-processing—an innovative technology that uses non-recyclable waste as a resource within the cement production process. Through co-processing, we recover both energy and materials simultaneously, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and virgin raw materials, lowering CO₂ emissions, and diverting waste from landfills towards circular solutions.

Every year, Geocycle Hellas achieves measurable impact:

• 130,000 t of waste diverted from landfill, including 50,000 t of recyclables and 80,000 t of construction & demolition waste.
• 2,000 t of compost generated
• 20,000 t of Solid Recovered Fuel (SRF) 100% recovered in the cement kiln
• Decarbonisation of our Heracles cement plants with continuous supply of alternative fuels and raw materials, reducing environmental footprint and advancing sustainable construction.

Our Services

We provide end-to-end waste management, turning waste into value across multiple streams: 

Recycling & Pre-processing 

• 2 Material Recovery Facilities: recovery of 50,000 t/year recyclables across 16 categories.
• 3 pre-processing plants: treatment of 80,000 t C&D waste and 40,000 t wood waste annually.
• Production of SRF through advanced sorting and mechanical treatment (including PVC removal for low-Cl fuel quality). 
   

Organic & Biological Treatment 

• In-vessel technology for composting and SRF drying.
• 2,000 t/year of nutrient-rich compost produced 
   

Energy recovery and mineral recycling in the cement manufacturing process 

• Continuous supply of low-carbon alternative fuels to HERACLES Group cement plants from the non recyclable fraction of municipal & industrial waste .
• Delivery of alternative raw materials derived from sources like construction & demolition waste as well as other industrial processes, preserving natural reserves and lowering CO₂ intensity in cement manufacturing.
