Geocycle India offers a smart EPR service to achieve Plastic Neutrality

Geocycle India has recently launched a smart Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) service. EPR is a policy approach which makes a producer responsible for their product after its end of life usage. Through this service Geocycle is going to support its customers like producers and brand owners to achieve their EPR targets. Geocycle intends to provide a transparent plastic waste management service using Cleanhub’s digital platform, ensuring traceability and guaranteeing the highest compliance standards. The aim is to  focus on reducing the leakage of plastic waste during the disposal process, thus ensuring it does not end up in landfills or natural environment.

Geocycle India has successfully implemented the first pilot project in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The collected plastic waste will be co-processed at our cement plant in Bhatapara, Chhattisgarh. In 2019-20, Geocycle India was able to dispose of 21,700 MT of plastic waste. Apart from ensuring safe management of plastic waste, through such projects Geocycle also seeks to catalyse sustainable livelihood solutions for the unorganized sector while ensuring health & safety measures. This has created a co-dependent business model which is a win-win for all the stakeholders. With this project, Geocycle has become the only brand in India to provide transparent and reliable plastic waste management solutions.
